The Skills Accelerator.

Your player films themselves at their own rink. Every week I break that film down against NHL players and send back exactly what to fix. The plan is built for them, not for everybody.

Your own film, every week

A custom breakdown of your player, side by side with NHL players doing the same thing. Forty-eight a year.

A plan built for your player

Not a shared curriculum. I write their development roadmap myself, from what I see in their film.

Six assessments a year

Skating, shooting and hockey IQ, twice each, with a written report card every time.

You can reach me

Direct messages with same-day replies on weekdays. Plus the full course and workout libraries in the app.

Works from any rink in the world. No local requirement and no travel.

Month to month, cancel with 30 days notice. The notice exists because there are only eight seats.

Sixty days. If you cannot see the improvement in your player's own film, first clips against current ones, I refund those two months.

The Coach Tony Hockey player app on a phone
How it works

Film it, then fix it.

The same loop every week, and all your player needs is a phone.

1
Your player films themselves

A phone propped on the boards is enough. Practice, a game, or a session on their own, whatever we are working on that week.

2
I break it down against the NHL

Their clip beside a pro doing the same skill, marked up, with my voice over it telling them what I see and what to change.

3
They train the one thing

One fix at a time, with the workouts to drill it, on-ice or off-ice. Nobody improves by working on nine things at once.

4
We measure it, then go again

Six times a year the skill gets formally assessed and written up, so progress is on the record rather than in anyone's memory.

What is inside

Everything, in one place.

One program, one price. There are no tiers and no add-ons.

Weekly film breakdown

A custom video of your player every week, side by side with NHL players, with what to fix and why. Forty-eight a year.

A curriculum I build for them

Their roadmap, written around their strengths and the things holding them back, not handed out to everyone.

Six 1:1 assessments

Skating, shooting and hockey IQ, twice a year each. A full breakdown and a written report card every time.

Direct access to me

Message me and get an answer the same day on weekdays. Eight seats is what makes that a promise I can keep.

The full library, included

Fourteen skills courses, both workout libraries and the NHL Video Library, in the app your player already carries.

No location required

Nothing runs on a clock, so a time zone never gets in the way. Any rink, any country.

Honest fit

Is this right for your player?

I would rather you work that out here than a month in. There are eight seats, so I would rather they go to players this actually suits.

This is for you if

Most families reading this page

  • Your player wants more than team practice, and right now nobody is telling them what to do in between.
  • There is no coach near you who can actually look at your player and tell them what to change.
  • You want one plan in a deliberate order, not another pile of drills off the internet.
  • You are nowhere near Southern California and you still want me coaching your player.
  • Your player will film themselves and do the work between breakdowns. I can see it and name it, but they have to go fix it.

This is not for you if

Better to know now than later

  • You want me physically on the ice with your player. That is the Skills Lab, and it only runs in Southern California.
  • Nobody in your house can point a phone at your player once a week. Without film there is nothing for me to coach.
  • You are looking for something to replace a team. This builds the individual, and the season still belongs to their coach.
  • Your player is brand new to skating. This assumes they can already skate and want to get meaningfully better.
  • You want the training done for you. I will build the plan and find the fix, but nobody can do the reps for them.

If you can reach Irvine, look at the Skills Lab as well. Some families do both, one for the ice and one for the film.

FAQs

Your questions, answered.

Competitive youth players roughly 10U through 16U. The curriculum assumes a player who can already skate and wants to get meaningfully better, from developing skaters through travel and AAA.

A phone is all you need. Prop it on the boards at practice, film from the stands at a game, or record a session on their own, then upload it. I tell you what to film each week, so nobody has to guess.

Every week. That is the program. Their clip goes side by side with an NHL player doing the same skill, marked up, with my voice over it. Miss a week and that month is free.

That depends on how often your player trains, and anyone who gives you a number is guessing. What I will commit to is this: in sixty days you will see the difference in their own film, their first clips against their current ones. If you cannot, I refund those two months.

Any time, with 30 days notice. No contract and no season-long commitment. The notice period exists because there are only eight seats and the waitlist deserves a fair shot at yours.

Where I am standing. Here I coach your player through their film, from anywhere in the world. In the Skills Lab I am on the ice with them twice a week, and it only runs in Southern California. Two programs for two situations, not two tiers, and some families take both.
